Iowa State's Joe Scates hauls in a first quarter touchdown pass in a 59-7 win over Kansas

AMES (KWWL) -- Iowa State fans call this month "Brock-tober" for a reason. The Cyclone quarterback threw touchdowns on four of his first five passes, leading ISU to a 59-7 beatdown of Kansas. The win moved Iowa State to 10-2 all-time in the month of October under Purdy.

All four of Purdy's touchdown passes came in the first 15 minutes as the the Cyclones set an all-time program record with 28 points in the first quarter. The senior finished the game completing 17 of 22 passes for 245 yards.

Xavier Hutchinson led the receiving corps with 96 yards and one touchdown.

Highlights of Iowa State's 59-7 win over Kansas

The success didn't come entirely through the air. Breece Hall scored twice, racking up 123 yards on just 17 carries.

Iowa State has won eight consecutive games at home against Big 12 opponents.
