WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) - Waterloo Police officers are investigating in a residential neighborhood after a juvenile victim showed up to a local hospital with a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon.

Police say a juvenile victim showed up to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound Sunday around 4:30 p.m. Police say information from the victim led them to investigate in the 700 block of West 1st Street, west of downtown.

A police official said the department is getting conflicting reports from sources in the area.

The investigation remains open and police say there's no indication the incident is related to the Saturday morning shooting that killed one and injured 12 on West 4th Street.
