NASHUA, Iowa (KWWL) -- A man is riding his bike all the way from Nashua, Iowa to Nashua, New Hampshire.

Andy Armstrong is a pastor at the First Church in New Hampshire and started his ride from the Little Brown Church Friday morning in Nashua, Iowa.

He says that there is a historical connection between the two towns and churches. He is raising money to repair his church's bell tower.

KWWL talked to him as he passed through Waterloo on Friday.

"I just am incredibly grateful to the kind of hospitality that I've received along the way," Armstrong said. "It just seems that people here in Iowa are incredibly kind to cyclists, you've got a warm spot for us. And that really goes a long way, so I'm really glad to begin here in your state."

The ride is about 1,500 miles, and Armstrong plans to ride about 60-80 miles a day. This would put him in the range of reaching New Hampshire in a couple weeks.
