Dubuque primary mayoral election: Brad Cavanagh and David Resnick move on

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) -- Brad Cavanagh has gotten the most votes in the Dubuque mayoral primary bid tonight, with 51.54% of the votes in his favor, at total of 2,227.

David Resnick was second with 35.22% of the vote and 1,522 votes total and will move on to November's election as well. 

In the city council at-large ballot, Ric Jones got the most votes, with 51.75% of the vote and 2,187 votes. In second was Michaela Freiburger with 24.49%, or 1,035 total votes, both will face off next month.

In total, 4,338 ballots were cast, out of the 41, 389 registered in Dubuque, resulting in a 10.5% voter turnout in tonight's election.
