EAST DUBUQUE, Illinois (KWWL) -- The Julien Dubuque Bridge is back open after being closed as authorities responded to a man who climbed up the structure of the bridge, but then climbed back down.
Police and fire crews responded to the bridge just before Noon after reports of a 59-year-old man climbing up the structure on the Illinois side. This led to the closure of the bridge.
The man then safely climbed back down the structure and was taken to the hospital by an East Dubuque ambulance.
The bridge reopened to traffic around 1:10 p.m.
