CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Yesterday, members of the Cedar River Festival Group and others in the community came out to help clean-up the Cedar River.
This group says they’re a local organization that’s dedicated to improving the quality of the Cedar River. Their mission is to educate others about the beauty of the river. They also work towards preserving that beauty.
The clean-up was yesterday. Volunteers met around 8:30 a.m. at Island Park in Cedar Falls. They then took a bus to a launch site, and canoed down the Cedar River, picking up trash during their journey.
There is also a celebration at Spicoli’s in Waterloo today. Festivities start at 1:00 p.m. with craft vendors and live music.
