OTTUMWA, Iowa (KWWL) -- An 81-year-old Ottumwa woman who had been reported missing on Tuesday was found dead by police Thursday morning.
The Wapello County Sheriff's Office says that Ottumwa Police officers found Connie Joan Turner dead along the edge of a lagoon in a wooded area at 9:15 a.m. This is a location that had previously been searched.
According to a Facebook post from the Wapello County Emergency Management Agency, Turner went missing on Tuesday, October 12 around 9 p.m. after she went out for a walk.
The Sheriff's Office thanked the community members who went and helped with the search for Turner, but said they wouldn't share any more details at this time out of respect for the family.
