Poweshiek County in central Iowa...
Southeastern Black Hawk County in northeastern Iowa...
East central Marion County in south central Iowa...
Tama County in central Iowa...
Northern Mahaska County in south central Iowa...
Southeastern Jasper County in central Iowa...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 354 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Dysart to Brooklyn to 4 miles northeast of
Leighton, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Severe thunderstorms will be near...
Dysart and Tf Clark State Park around 400 PM CDT.
Victor, Victor and Hartwick around 405 PM CDT.
La Porte City around 410 PM CDT.

Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include
Montezuma, Barnes City and Deep River.

Interstate 80 between mile markers 180 and 204.

* WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
Brief gusts immediately behind the line of thunderstorms over
central and eastern Iowa may exceed 60 mph for one to three
hours. Strong winds of 50 to 55 are expected at times overnight
through early Saturday just prior to sunrise.

* WHERE...Portions of central and southern Iowa.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
