April 11: Iowa reports 432 new COVID-19 cases and 8 additional deaths

EDITOR’S NOTE: The daily numbers that we report do not line up with the numbers the state is reporting for each day. Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day’s numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current numbers from the state at 10 a.m. Rather than reporting a day behind, we wish to give you the most updated information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we are reporting numbers from their county COVID-19 websites. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we are reporting numbers from the state’s website.

(KWWL) — There were 432 new, confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the state’s dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 356,893.

The state’s website says that of the 356,893 people who have tested positive, 337,771 have recovered. This is 198 more recoveries than what the state reported Saturday.

The state is reporting 8 additional COVID-19 death, with a death toll of 5,857.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (337,771) and the number of deaths (5,857) from the total number of cases (356,893) shows there are currently 13,265 active positive cases in the state.

As of Sunday morning, there were 39 patients hospitalized in Iowa within the last 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 212, a decrease from 218 hospitalized the day before. Of those, 54 are in the ICU (up from 52), and 20 are on ventilators (up from 19).

In Iowa, there were 1,908 people tested in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,665,594 people have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Sunday morning, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 1,776,376 total doses have been administered to Iowa residents and 762,170 individuals have completed the series. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, the Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard is showing 20 new cases since 10 a.m. Saturday, leaving a total of 16,542 cases. There have been 14 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 14,783. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 306 deaths. In Black Hawk County, 32,631 residents have been fully vaccinated.

LINN COUNTY

As of 10 a.m. Sunday, the Linn County COVID-19 dashboard is showing 82 new cases since 10 a.m. Saturday, leaving a total of 20,180 cases. There have been 17 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 18,689 recoveries. There have been no additional deaths, leaving a total of 338 deaths in the county. There are currently 3 patients currently hospitalized in the county. In Linn County, 55,061 residents have been fully vaccinated.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Sunday, there are 28 new positive cases reported in Johnson County since 10 a.m. Saturday. This brings the total to 13,854 reported cases. There have been a total of 13,160 recoveries, 5 more reported than yesterday. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 80. In Johnson County, 42,892 residents have been fully vaccinated.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the state’s dashboard at 10 a.m. Sunday, there were 21 additional positive cases reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Saturday. This brings the total to 13,023 reported cases. There have been 5 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 12,303. There were no additional deaths reported, leaving a total of 202. In Dubuque County, 27,642 residents have been fully vaccinated.
