CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) - A Cedar Falls special education teacher is this month's 'Tools for Schools' grant winner!
Her name is Amber Sly and she teaches at River Hills School on Grand Blvd. in Cedar Falls. Sly works closely with severely disabled children on a daily basis.
Wanting to make sure her students learn in the nest way for themselves, she said she will use the money to buy adaptive sense kits.
"They allow hands on learning experience to those essential elements," Sly said, "there's several investigations, it's a lot of hands on learning."
River Hills takes in about 85 severely disabled students. The school teaches students from primary grade levels all the way till they're 21-years-old.
The 'Cedar Valley Tools For Schools' Program is a partnership between KWWL and Green State Credit Union.
