DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa’s unemployment rate for August held steady at 4.1%. Slightly better than the national unemployment rate for the month of August, sitting at 5.2%.
The latest report on Friday from the Iowa Workforce Development shows the number of unemployed Iowans rose slightly. Rising 300 for a total of 67,900 Iowans unemployed.
The number of residents with jobs dropped by 1,600, falling to 1.59 million. Iowa’s unemployment rate currently ranks 17th nationally. The state with the lowest unemployment rate in the county is Nebraska, sitting at 2.2%
