Three late night armed robberies in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Police in Cedar Rapids are investigating three armed robberies.

The first robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night near 30th St Dr. and 3rd Ave. SE.  Police say two men pointed a gun at a man and stole his wallet.  The suspects are described as two white males, one wearing a white hoodie ad one wearing a white jacket with black letters.

A second robbery happened around 10:20 p.m. Thursday at McDonalds on Dry Creek Lane NE.
The business was closed at the time, but somehow, police say a man made his way in, fired two rounds into the ceiling, and demanded money.  All of the employees except the manager ran away.  The manager stayed to tell the robber the location of the safe.  Police describe this suspect as a black male, dressed in black and wearing a mask.

A third robbery happened around 10:45 p.m. Thursday in a parking lot near Wilson Ave. and 22nd Ave.  Police say a man displayed a handgun, demanded cash, and ran off.  The suspect is described as a black male in his thirties, wearing a black baseball hat with white letters.

No one was hurt in any of the robberies and no arrests have been made.  Police have not said if the robberies are connected.
