Dental hygiene important to monkeys

Thailand (NBC) -- Researchers recently found several monkeys in Thailand who apparently take dental hygiene very seriously.

These monkeys use strands of human hair to floss their own teeth.

Experts say the discovery shows that monkeys, just like humans, educate their young, including teaching them to care for their teeth.

The research team also found that monkey mothers tend to spend twice as much time flossing their own teeth and exaggerate their gestures while their infants are watching them as to teach them proper technique.
