Regents to vote on pay freezes

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- With additional budget cuts looming -- Iowa's Board of Regents may order the heads of all state schools to freeze employee salaries.

Regents President David Miles plans to present the resolution at the board's meeting next week. It would affect all non-union employees at the state's three publis universities as well as the Iowa School for the Deaf and Iowa Braile and Sight School.

Miles says the pay freezes will help solve an estimated 62-million dollar cut in its budget for next year.
