Damm loses appeal, sentence increased

JO DAVIESS, IL (KWWL) -- A Jo Daviess County judge denied David Damm's request for a new trial Friday, according to our coverage partners at the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald.

But the bad news didn't stop there for the 61 year-old Waterloo man. The judge also added 45 years to Damm's sentence and scheduled his execution for May 22nd, though the appeals process will likely last more than a year.

In October 2006, Damm hired Bruce Burt to kidnap and kill 13 year-old Donnisha Hill of Waterloo in order to stop her from testifying that Damm sexually abused her. Burt dumped her body in rural Jo Daviess County.
