Midwest Black History Conference Begins

DECORAH (KWWL) -- As Black History Month nears an end, the sixth annual Midwest Black History Conference starts Thursday in Decorah.

The event brings writers, artists, scholars and more to the Luther College campus.

The 2009 Midwest Black History Conference, titled "Black Migrations: Movements in Context, Community, and Faith," will explore both historical and contemporary migrations of people of African descent and how the migration experience is portrayed through artistic expression, historical interpretation and religious expressions.

There are many free events Thursday and Friday.
