One dead, two hurt after crash on icy road in Floyd County


FLOYD COUNTY (KWWL) -- An Arkansas man is dead and two others are hospitalized after a crash Wednesday morning on an icy road in Floyd County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened at 7:28am Wednesday on mile marker 202 of Highways 18/27.

A state patrol crash report says Trey Henry, 28, of Russelville, Arkansas was driving westbound on Highway 18 when he hit a patch of ice, went through the median and rolled into the eastbound lane.

Three people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.  The crash threw Henry and another passenger Rocksana Henry, 22 from Russelville, Arkansas, they landed on the shoulder of the road.  A third passenger Kassie Austin, 27, from Gravelly, Arkansas was also injured.

Rocksana Henry and Kassie Austin are recovering at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. 

The state patrol says none of the people in the vehicle were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
