CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- "Don't worry."

That's the message from conservation officials about a coyote spotted in Cedar Falls.

Several viewers sent us pictures of the coyote seen throughout Cedar Falls. The coyote came up at Monday night's city council meeting. Mayor Jon Crews tells KWWL despite a city ordinance banning trappers, the city will likely allow one in to capture the coyote.

Vern Fish, with the Black Hawk County Conservation Board, says people shouldn't have anything to fear.

"The coyote is afraid of humans," Fish said. "If you make gesturing motions, yell, scream, he or she is going to take off and disappear. I don't think there's any thing of major concern."

Fish recommends moving pet food and trash inside to encourage the coyote to simply move on.
