Former UNI baseball player expects baseball to be cut

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- In a phone conversation with KWWL on Sunday, former UNI shorstop Brandon Douglas said he and his brother Brett Douglas, the team's co-captain, expect the UNI baseball program to be cut on Monday.

Panther Athletic Director Troy Dannen confirmed that he is having a meeting with UNI baseball head coach Rick Heller on Monday morning.

2009 would be the last year of Panther baseball and Brandon Douglas, currently at spring training with the Detroit Tigers, is shocked.
