Goodwill To Open New CF Store

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa will open its newest store, March 5, in Cedar Falls. The new store, at 4318 University Avenue, will be located in the former Cedarloo Shopping Center site. Goodwill Industries plans a ribbon-cutting ceremony and short ceremony, beginning at 8:45 am.

Goodwill Board Chair, Mizi Tann, says, "All of us are excited about this new store. At a time when so many people are in need, it is important that we have adequate facilities to serve them. This site is a big improvement for all concerned."

Goodwill already operates in several northeast Iowa area communities, including Decorah, Oelwein, Independence, Dubuque, Waterloo and Cedar Falls. President and CEO, David Boyd, says Goodwill has plans to open two additional stores in its northeast Iowa territory by 2012.

Of the new Cedar Falls store, Boyd says, "The generosity of residents has allowed Goodwill to help thousands over the years. Our stores and voluntary donations are the financial backbone of our service. We are proud to be upgrading our facilities. Upgrading this store has been a goal for years."

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa operates retail stores, selling goods donated by caring and generous individuals. The sales generated by these retails stores provide the revenue necessary to operate Goodwill programs which assist persons with disabilities and disadvantages help them reach their maximum independence.
