"Catfight" raises money for flood relief

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A "catfight" Tuesday night helped raise money for flood relief.

Before Linn-Mar's highly anticipated boys basketball game against Cedar Rapids Kennedy, students sold more than 1,000 "catfight" t-shirts. Kennedy Cougar students wore white and Linn-Mar Lions students wore black. At halftime, students donated the proceeds to the Cedar Rapids flood relief fund.

"We love to see not only the competition but there's comradorie between the two schools that we can get so pumped up and sell a whole gym, 2138 seats, so we can support our guys and the basketball team as well as supporting the arts at the same time," said Kimberly Feldman, a senior at Linn-Mar.
