WATERLOO (KWWL) - Waterloo Police arrested 20-year-old Shean Holmes and charged him with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Jasmine Mills and burglary in the first-degree.

"Early on in the investigation his name was made known to investigators and during the course of the investigation they developed enough evidence to go ahead and bring the charge," said Captain John Beckman with Waterloo Police.

"Mr. Holmes is presently being held in the Black Hawk County Jail. The bond was set at $150,000," added Beckman. "Mr. Holmes has been incarcerated in the Black Hawk County Jail since December 29th when he was charged with a probation violation."

Mills died back in December after she was assaulted in the parking lot of the Kum & Go convenience store at 117 East San Marnan Drive.

The Iowa State Medical Examiner determined that she died from blunt force trauma to the head.
