Flood funding flowing fast

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- Rebuild Iowa officials say federal funds are flowing to flood victims faster than in other disasters.

According to the Rebuild Iowa Office, flood victims began receiving federal community development block grants in just seven months. It took 30 months for victims of Hurricane Rita in Texas to get those grants.

Rebuild Iowa says of the $85-million in grants for Iowa's flooding -- it's handed out $6.8 million to small businesses and another $1.2 million for housing help.
