''Wheels of Change'' sells car for $1

MARION (KWWL)-- An automotive repair shop is selling A 1999 Nissan Altima for one dollar.

Monday, Anderson Automotive will begin accepting nominations for ''Wheels of Change.''

The program was started to help the people of Eastern Iowa that have been affected by the current downturn in the economy. They are asking for nominations of people who deserve to buy the vehicle for the asking price. In addition, they will be asked to write a letter explaining why the person deserves the car.

Anderson says the ideal person is someone not thinking of themselves, but instead someone who is always looking out for others.

The applications must be postmarked by March 24. The winner will be chosen March 31.

All nominations need to include the following information:

  • Nominating person's name, address, and phone number
  • Why that person believes the nominated person needs & deserves the opportunity to purchase the Nissan Altima for one dollar
  • Nominee's name, address and phone number
