DES MOINES (KWWL) -- A coalition of environmental groups outlined waterways and trash burning as two top priorities for the Iowa legislature.
The Iowa Environmental Council outlined its goals at the Statehouse on Tuesday.
The group says about one-third of Iowa cities allow trash burning which contributes to asthma and bronchitis conditions.
The Council also says it's been 30 years since the last statewide assessment of Iowa waterways and that a plan is especially needed in light of last year's flooding.
