WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Scott Pavelski opened the scoring Saturday, then capped a shootout in a 3-2 Waterloo Black Hawks victory against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Young Arena.

Pavelski was the trailer on a three-on-two shorthanded rush in the opening period. Keegan Meuer dropped him the puck, and Pavelski fired it in, high to the glove side of goalie Clay Witt at 13:47.

The Stampede struck for two goals in less than 60 seconds, starting at 9:47 of the second period, when George Michalke flipped in a rebound. Dane Walters long shot trickled in at 10:38.
