Flu cases rise in Iowa

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Despite the warmer weather, flu cases are on the rise in Iowa and across the nation.

The Iowa Department of Public Health says Iowa's flu activity level rose this week from sporadic to regional as we come into the peak flu season. Flu cases especially are especially high in towns and cities in eastern and central Iowa, where there's more person-to-person contact.

The CDC also reports flu cases are rising across the country. It says most cases are strians not covered by the flu vaccine. The c-d-c still recommends getting a flu shot if you haven't already.
