New Rebuild Iowa office helps recovery

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- After meeting with leaders in Waterloo Thursday, Governor Culver attended a ribbon cutting of the new Rebuild Iowa office in Cedar Rapids.

This new office will serve as a meeting place for recovery efforts in the Cedar Rapids area.

The building currently houses the Linn Area Recovery Coalition which has been working with Eastern Iowans impacted by the flood.

The new office is close to downtown and should help the recovery process.

"Our office is going to remain focused on our flood recovery efforts; that's what we were established for, that's what we're going to continue to do," said Tina Potthoff with the Rebuild Iowa office.  "It can be a little frustrating dealing with some of these snags in the road but we will get through them and continue to focus on Cedar Rapids, as well as the rest of the state."

The new office currently houses just one Rebuild Iowa employee.
