Baby webcast first ever at St. Lukes in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -Most families can't wait to show off a new bundle of joy, but when loved ones are spread across the country, that can be hard.

That's why Saint Luke's birth care center is offering a baby web cam.

Moms and dads can see and talk to relatives in real-time using a hospital web-cam.

Today Gabriela Rose Bolden became the first baby at St. Luke's to use the new technology. Friends and families in four states tuned in to this afternoon's webcast to see her for the first time.

"This is awesome technology," said Quintin Bolden, Gabriela's father.  "Especially for people that won't get a chance to get in town and the other family memebers can see it right away. But for them to be able to see it at a distance, that's pretty cool."

The new service is free and available to all new parents at St. Luke's.
