Meth costs increase for all Americans

Waterloo (KWWL)- The illegal use of methamphetamine is costing Americans an estimated 23-billion dollars a year.  Analysts from the Rand Corporation say the cost of arresting and imprisoning drug offenders is a major factor.  Petty theft, lost work productivity, and the expense of removing children from homes because of meth use also contribute to the cost.  Also, an estimated 900 people addicted to meth died prematurely in 2005.
