Linn County joins Cedar Rapids in putting sales tax to vote

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Linn County joined Cedar Rapids in putting a one-percent local option sales tax to voters to help pay for flood recovery.

People in linn county will vote on the tax March 3rd. If approved, it would last five years.

Earlier Tuesday, the Cedar Rapids City Council unanimously approved a similar sales tax. That will also go to voters March 3rd and last five years, if approved.
