Board freezes Linn Co. Supervisor salaries

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A controversy is over, for now, as the Linn County Compensation Board voted to freeze county supervisors pay.

Last March, Linn County Supervisors voted for a pay cut as the board was set to expand from three to five members. But just before that pay cut was to take effect, supervisors repealed it.

Tuesday night, the compensation board voted to freeze supervisors salaries. At the same time. the board approved raises for the county attorney, auditor, recorder, treasurer and sheriff.

The board supervisors now can either approve or lower those salaries, but it cannot raise them.
