Cedar Valley Women of Persimmon Awards

WATERLOO (KWWL) The YWCA is looking for nominations for Cedar Valley Women of Persimmon Awards. The deadline for nominations is February 18. Nominate a woman deserving of recognition for her role in business and in the community.

Consideration will be given to the ways in which the nominees exemplify the mission and vision of the YWCA.  The nominee's contributions and the degree of impact of her achievements may be in her neighborhood, community, state or nation.  Those "behind the scenes" women as well as those in the public eye should be considered.

The nominee must be a resident and/or work in the Cedar Valley area.  Students attending educational institutions in Black Hawk or Bremer counties are also eligible.

If not selected as a Woman of Persimmon recipient, an individual may be nominated either in the same or in a different category in future years.  Past Cedar Valley Women of Persimmon recipients are eligible to be nominated in another category after five years.

Here are the categories:

Professional/Business Woman - Women will be considered from all levels in the business world: business owners, managers, employees and entrepreneurs.  Nominees may be employed by profit or non-profit organizations and demonstrate their professionalism through commitment, organization effectiveness and ethical leadership.
