DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- If you've ever flown out of the Dubuque Regional Airport, you've probably noticed a Steelers theme in the FlyDBQ Cafe. Owner Mike Marshall, a Dubuque native, started rooting for the steelers in the 70's because the colors are the same as the Hawkeyes.
His cafe collection is just the overflow from his home memorabilia. The cafe collection includes items sent to him from people in Pittsburgh that saw his Steelers gear at the airport. A former Steelers player also stopped in one day and signed a jacket.
"People flying out from the airport say, oh, I'm a steelers fan, or even some people, oh, I'm a bears fan, I'm not going to come in there, you know, I'm not even going to talk to you because you got steelers stuff all over the wall. So, it's kind of a focus point, a conversation starter!" Marshall said.
Even being a superfan, Marshall has never seen the Steelers play live. Like many of us, he'll watch Sunday's game on KWWL. Marshall's guess for the score is 24-7 -- Steelers, of course.
