It's raining cats in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Cedar Rapids could see a flood of cats after last summer's record flooding.

Stray cats have found a home in abandoned houses in neighborhoods hit hard by the flooding.

The Cedar Valley Humane Society says stray cats tend to move into colonies in abandoned buildings and breed, increasing their numbers and the problems.

Manson predicts there will be an explosion in the cat population in spring. A Cedar Rapids resident says at least 30 cats are living in a local golf course.
