WATERLOO (KWWL)-- Police have a man in custody after an overnight robbery that began at a convenience store.

Waterloo police say 48-year-old Michael Ohlenkamp returned to his unlocked vehicle after stopping at Kwik Star on Franklin Street, and was robbed.

45-year-old Dwayne Williams was hiding in the back seat and held a knife to his Ohlenkamp's throat, demanding money.

Ohlenkamp drove to the Kum and Go on Franklin for assistance and was able to escape from Williams.

Williams has been charged with first-degree robbery.

Ohlenkamp was treated for a cut to his neck.
