Bill would repeal Iowa's English-only law

DES MOINES (KWWL) -- A new push is on to repeal a law declaring english as Iowa's official language.

A bill now in front a state house committee, would repeal the law.

The law made headlines in a court ruling last year declaring bi-lingual voter registration forms are illegal.

The english-only law requires all official state business be done in english-only. When it passed in 2002, most supporters saw it as a largely symbolic move.
