CR man not guilty of disaster aid fraud

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A jury has acquitted a Cedar Rapids man of filing a fraudulent application for disaster aid.

Jermaine Graham, 33 was found not guilty late Thursday after a jury deliberated for more than 12 hours over two days.

He was accused of falsely claiming on a disaster aid application that he lived at a home that had been damaged by flooding. He received more than $4,800 in assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The owners of the home testified that Graham didn't live with them during the floods. Graham's attorney argued that he lived at the home for a few days and was entitled to disaster funds.
