UPDATED: School van involved in crash, five hurt

WINNESHIEK COUNTY (KWWL) - A crash in Winneshiek County sent four high school cheerleaders and their sponsor to the hospital.

It happened Thursday night at the intersection of Highway 52 and County Road B-16.

County authorities say 22-year old Kady Christensen was driving a New Hampton school van and collided with 15-year old Theo Taylor who pulled out in front of the caravan at the intersection.

Everyone in the school van was taken to the hospital.
All five were released with minor injuries, and some bumps and bruises.

Theo Taylor wasn't hurt.  He was cited for failure to yield upon a left turn.

We're told by a person who knows Christensen, that the cheerleaders were on their way back from a wrestling meet in Waukon when the crash happened.

In addition to being a cheerleading sponsor, Kady Christensen is also a special education instructor at the high school.  She was back at work the day after the crash.
