Iowa's Tucker will miss second semester

Posted:

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -  University of Iowa freshman guard Anthony Tucker will miss the second semester of the 2008-09 season due to academic ineligibility, according to Hawkeye head mens basketball coach Tom Lickliter.

"Since the conclusion of the first semester, Anthony has been involved in an appeal process concerning his academic course work," said Lickliter. "We have been informed that the appeal process has been completed and Anthony is not eligible, by Big Ten Conference standards, to compete during the spring semester."

Tucker missed playing time this season after an alcohol-related suspension and coming down with mono.

Tucker joined the Iowa program from Minnetonka, Minnesota.
