Warner and Cardinals staying focused in days leading up to Super Bowl

(PHOENIX) - By Dan Bickley, The Arizona Republic, azcentral.com.

One Cardinals player said privately that he hoped head coach Ken Whisenhunt would ban the use of cell phones in the locker room between now and the Big Game.

"We need to stay on our game and make sure we don't have any kind of a let down," the player said.

If a let down were to happen now, it would dampen the greatest story in the NFL this season.

"I don't know how you get to this point and have any kind of a letdown," quarterback Kurt Warner said. "Even though we may have exceeded expectations at this point, this is what you play the game for. If you can't commit two more weeks and give everything you have, I think you're in the wrong business."

The team's schedule for the rest of the week looks like this:

Practice on Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., again from 10:40 to 12:45 on Friday, and then from 10:15 to noon on Saturday.

Warner and the Cardinals have a scheduled day off on Sunday and then depart for Tampa on Monday at a time yet to be announced.

"I'm just taking it day to day," offensive lineman Reggie Wells said. "We can't over-hype anything, over-emphasize anything. We just need to keep preparing the way we have been preparing. That has been working for us up to this point, so there's no sense to change that right now.
