University of Iowa puts executive job search on hold

Posted:

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Officials at the University of Iowa said searches to fill four executive-level jobs are on hold because of budget pressures.

Spokesman David Kieft says the hold is temporary, and a decision will be made soon on whether to proceed or delay the process until the economy stabilizes.

The positions are vice president for legal affairs and general counsel; vice president for student services; vice president for strategic communication; and associate vice president/associate provost for diversity.

The university has to cut $7.5 million from its budget by June 30 as part of statewide budget cuts.
