Man charged with drunk driving after crash in Linn County

LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -- Two people were hospitalized and another charged with drunk driving after a crash in Linn County Sunday.

It happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. at 9700 Blairsferry Rd.  The Linn County Sheriff's Office tells us a truck driven by 52 year old Robert Armstrong of Mount Vernon crossed the center line, and crashed into a S.U.V.

Two passengers in the S.U.V. were transported to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids for what authorities say appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

Armstrong refused medical treatment at the scene.  There were no passengers in his vehicle.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says Robert Armstrong is charged with operating while intoxicated and driving on the wrong side of the highway.
