Iowa National Guard troops arrive for inauguration

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -- Some Iowa National Guard soldiers and airmen are now in the Washington, D.C. area for Tuesday's inauguration. 

1000 troops will be helping with transportation and traffic control for tuesday's presidential inauguration.  Members of the 185th Air Refueling Wing based in Sioux City flew to Andrews AFB, Maryland Saturday. 

Iowa National Guard Soldiers and Airmen began arriving in Washington, D.C., on Friday in preparation for the 56th Presidential Inauguration.  Another 800 Soldiers departed Iowa Saturday, some by bus and some by military aircraft, bound for the nation's capitol.  

By Sunday, more than 1,000 Iowa Soldiers and Airmen will be on duty in Washington, D.C., to assist with inauguration support duties.
