Fire burns Waterloo home

WATERLOO (KWWL) - The Red Cross is assisting Waterloo family members whose home was burned Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the home at 121 Cutler Street around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Waterloo Fire Department, six people were in the home at the time of the fire. Fortunately, all of them made it out safely.

Fire Chief Doug Carter said the fire started in the basement.

Investigators don't know what caused the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting with clothing, hotel and food assistance.
