ICCA announces award winners

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- The Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance (ICCA) has chosen this year's advocacy award winners.

Tthe two awards -- the Larry Eckholt Award and the North Corridor Advocate Award -- are given to a community member annualy for their passion, commitment and advocacy to the cultural vitality of the corridor.  Community members are nominated by members of ICCA and voted on by the ICCA Board of Directors.  The awards will be presented during the ICCA innovative Excellence Awards on Monday, January 26th. 

Bob Goodfellow has been chosen to receive the Larry Eckholt Award for his work in Johnson County through his company Goodfellow Printing Co. 

Audrey Lingo-Ovel has been chosen to receive the North Corridor Advocate Award for her years working with the Cedar Rapids Playtime Poppy Protram and giving to the Iowa Theatre Building. Before her death last year, Linge-Ovel worked with her children and husband to create the Linge Family Foundation to continue her legacy of charitable giving.

There are 11 other awards that will be announced during the January 26th event.  The event, also known as the Ickys, will begin with a dual reception from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Iowa Artisians Gallary and the Chait Calleries Downtown.  The award celebration will be gin at 6:30 p.m. at the Englert Theatre, 221 E. Washington St., Iowa City.  Tickets are $20 and are available through the Englert box office.
