Change of command at Waterloo Army Reserve Company

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- An eastern Iowa Army Reserve Company is under new leadership.

A ceremony at the Army Reserve Building in Waterloo Saturday marked the passing of leadership of the 445th Transportation Company from First Lieutenant Douglas Rustan to Major Travis Smith.  Colonel Thomas Jones with the 649th Regional Support Group presided over the ceremony.

The 445th does logistical support.  The unit was deployed to Iraq a few years ago.

"I've been through the gambit but a lot of it was logistics and transportation, so this command fits in right with what I've been doing before," said Major Travis Smith.

The 445-th will eventually be deployed to Fort McCoy.  There's no word on exactly when that will happen.
