Dubuque area churches unite to celebrate Sanctity of Life

DUBUQUE (KWWL) - January 22nd marks the 36th Anniversary of Roe V Wade decision by the United States Supreme Court. Each year thousands of people flock to Washington D.C. to participate in the March for Life. It's a march that stands against Abortion.

This year the Dubuque County Right to Life and the National St. Michael the Archangel Organization are coordinating a celebration of life with churches in Dubuque. January 13th through the 21st Dubuque area Catholic churches will hold a special Mass "For the Protection of Unborn Human Persons." Each night a different church will host mass. St. Columbkille will hold a Mass for Life all nine days.

In addition, January 18th is "Sanctity of Human Life Sunday", held across the country as a day where Protestant and non-denominational churches commemorate with special services and recognition on the sanctity of life.

"We are excited to demonstrate that the sanctity of life extends across all denominations, and we extend our deepest gratitude to those churches who have boldly decided to stand up in support of the unborn. It is our desire that this will become an annual occurrence until the day that Roe V. Wade is overturned," said Dubuque County Right to Life, Inc. Executive Director Steven Brody.
