Iowa City--With each passing day, it seems less and less likely Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz will leave the Hawkeyes to become head coach of the NFL's Cleveland Browns.
New England Patriots' personnel man Scott Pioli has interviewed with Cleveland owner Randy lLerner about the Browns general manager job. Pioli wants total control and Kirk Ferentz as his head coach.
Lerner likes former Jets head coach Eric Mangini who Pioli probably can't work with because of last year's Spygate.
Cleveland Plain Dealer columnist Bud Shaw suggests; either Pioli doesn't want to leave New England that bad or Lerner doesn't want Ferentz
One hawkeye thinks captain kirk would do well at the next level. Quarterback Ricky Stanzi said he wasn't distracted about the rumors before the Outback Bowl and after the game Stanzi endorsed Ferentz as a viable NFL candidate, "Could he succeed? Of course, he's a great coach. We all love playing for him. Everyone loves buting their butt for Coach Ferentz because we know he's going to put us in a position to do well if we just listen to what he says. We love having him but to question if he could be successful anywhere, it's obvious that he could."
