Speedy little Darren Sproles scooted 22 yards for the winning score 6:20 into overtime and the Chargers beat the Colts 23-17 in an AFC wild-card game.
Sproles accounted for 328 total yards in stealing the spotlight from Tomlinson, who didn't play after the first quarter because of a groin injury suffered last week.
Sproles ran 24 times for 105 yards. The 5-foot-6, 181-pound Spoles also caught five passes for 45 yards. Sproles returned four kickoffs for 106 yards and added three punt returns for 72 yards.
The Chargers ended the Colts' 9-game winning streak a day after Peyton Manning won his third Associated Press NFL MVP award. But Manning was outplayed by Chargers QB Philip Rivers, who completed 20 of 36 passes for 217 yards and no interceptions.
The Chargers move on to play either Tennessee or Pittsburgh next weekend in the AFC playoffs.
